Kuwait Landfill
In Kuwait, due to the disaster of the Gulf War back in time, the land area was contaminated with over 20 million M3 of soil and further affected by the oil spills. To clean the extensive land area, we completed a D&B contract for the Kuwait Oil Company and built a 1 million M3 repository for the polluted hydrocarbon contaminated soils. The repository created was lined with engineering soil along with geosynthetic composite liner (GCL) and +2mm HDPE geomembrane. It further includes a range of geotextiles and drainage media. The Kuwait landfill contract was divided into two stages. Firstly, we build the basal engineered containment structure. And, secondly, came back two years later to cap and restore the same by filling with the contaminated soils.
